Madrid, Spain. [CD-EUDNews, Corrado Cozzi]. The Executive Committee of the Inter-European Division (EUD), presently meeting in Madrid, Spain at it´s Year-End session, elected today Valérie Dufour as the new Director for the Division´s Health Ministries Department. Valérie Dufour, will replace Viriato Ferreira, who has been serving in that position at the EUD since 2006 and has recently been elected to serve as Associate Director of Health Ministries at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist World Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Valérie Dufour is a licensed Dietitian in France, having obtained her degree at the Aix-Marseille University. She is also a candidate for a Master in Public Health at Andrews University, Michigan, USA and has been a member of the General Conference Nutrition Council since 2011. Prior to her career in health, Valérie Dufour completed undergraduate studies in Economics and in 1992 was conferred the title of “Maitrise” in Economic Sciences also by the Aix-Marseille University.

Valérie Dufour has extensive experience in health promotion and education programs. She worked in a Lifestyle Center, organizing patients´ programs, and presenting health seminars and later joined the “Die Knospe Foundation” in Basel, Switzerland, where she organized Health Expos for adults and children and other health promotion events.

In 2008 Valérie Dufour joined the Health Ministries team at the EUD, becoming Assistant Director in 2010. She has travelled extensively in Europe and the USA, doing what she enjoys most – to share the good news of healthy living with children and adults alike. Her passion for children is well seen in the Childrens Health Expo, of which she is the creator and developer. The Children´s Health Expo is an attractive, easy to use health education tool especially designed for children aged 6 – 12. This program is now being used in many countries of the world such as Switzerland, Portugal, USA, France, Italy, Russia, England and Colômbia.

Valérie Dufour will bring a wealth of experience to Health Ministries in the EUD. Her language skills – fluent in French, German and English and understanding Spanish, Italian and Portuguese - will be a valuable asset to her ministry. She will continue to work with Ruben Ferreira, Assistant Director for Communication in Health Ministries and Iris Ladislas, Administrative Assistant.
