Adventists horrified by terrorist attack in Halle

The Seventh-day Adventists in Germany reacted with horror to the terrorist attack on the Jewish community in Halle/Saale.

"The attempted terrorist attack on the Jewish community gathered in Halle/Saale on October 9 for Yom Kippur leaves us stunned. We are horrified by this atrocity. Our thoughts are with our Jewish brothers and sisters in Halle who were the victims of this attack. As Adventist Christians, we stand by their side," said Michael Götz, Federal Commissioner for Refugee and Integration Aid at the Adventist Welfare Organization (AWW), in a statement. The AWW is the social network organization of the Seventh-day Adventists in Germany.

Adventists condemned all forms of anti-Semitism and xenophobia, Götz stressed. The heinous crime of Halle was an attack on all of us, on democracy and the rule of law, on freedom of religion and the inviolability of the dignity of every human being. "Our thoughts are also with the people who have become victims of this crime. We mourn the bereavement of the relatives and ask for recovery for those who have been wounded in body and soul by this act", said the Federal Commissioner for Refugee and Integration Aid of the AWW.
