Collonges Theological Seminary proposes a Mooc on evangelism

FAC News.

The Adventist Theological Seminary of Collonges-sous-Salève (France) proposes a new Mooc this fall! After the Mooc (still available) on the theme of the Sabbath, treated in an interdisciplinary way and presented by all the professors of the Seminary; and the Mooc on the book of Revelation, presented by Richard Lehmann; this new Massive Open Online Course is entitled "Evangelizing. From Word to Deed”. Designed and produced in collaboration with the Franco-Belgian Union of Adventist Churches, it is presented by Gabriel Monet, professor of practical theology, with the collaboration of the heads of the Evangelism Departments in France and Belgium: Gabriel Golea, Samuel Dinsenmeyer, Gérard Péroumal, Ricardo Pereira .

A Mooc is a course open to all, and free. The teaching is done through several videos that can be watched when desired. It is an opportunity to let as many people as possible taste a little bit of what can be experienced, reflected upon, and shared in a Theological Seminary. Admittedly, a Mooc does not have the same objectives and modalities as a normal course, but it is an opportunity to tackle a subject at the service of all.

Evangelizing is the mission left by Jesus to all his disciples, past and present. Evangelizing is one of the vocations of the Church. Evangelizing is the challenge of each believer to share one’s faith, to bring a contribution so that the values of the Gospel may be lived and accepted as widely as possible. But evangelizing is not self-evident. After 2000 years of Christianity and in a context where religiosity is often confined to the private sphere, it is not useless to revisit what the Bible says about evangelism and mission, but also to consider concrete paths linked to a conception of evangelism that is as natural and radiant as possible. This Mooc, "Evangelizing. From word to deed", is therefore not only a teaching, but also an exhortation to implement the biblical foundations through means in line with the current context.

The Mooc(s) of the Theological Seminary of Collonges-sous-Salève are available (in French) at www.faculteadventiste.com  or www.moocadventiste.com.
