Children, parents, schools, and many supporters across Germany have worked together to ensure that 26,771 Christmas packages were delivered to bring joy to children in Eastern Europe.
In 2024, participation in the "Children Help Children!" campaign was once again impressive, reported the press office of the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Germany. From small collection campaigns in kindergartens to large projects in schools and church communities - committed people everywhere pitched in to bring joy to many children in Eastern Europe. “This solidarity among children and families shows how easy it can be to do good together,” reports Andreas Lerg, press spokesman for ADRA Germany.
More than 26,700 packages were sent
Thanks to this support, 26,771 packages were collected, filled with toys, warm hats, scarves and gloves, school supplies, and hygiene items, and sent on their way. Children in need in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Kosovo were delighted about this.
A sign of hope and charity
The campaign originated at the Marienhöhe school in Darmstadt and quickly spread across the whole country. Next year, it will celebrate its 25th anniversary and has thus stood for the values of solidarity and charity for more than two decades. "It is always impressive to see how great the willingness to help others is," said Olena Surovtseva, coordinator of the "Children Help Children!" campaign by ADRA Germany. "Every package is a sign that we are thinking of each other and not forgetting anyone."
