The two-day initiative resulted in the distribution of essential aid packages to two hundred and thirty families, effectively providing critical sustenance and material support to at least six hundred and ninety vulnerable individuals. This targeted social intervention was organized in alignment with the Seventh-day Adventist Church's "All New Things" National Mission Congress, leveraging the event's logistics to maximize community outreach.
The first phase of the deployment commenced on Saturday, June 20, at the Dumitru Popescu Colibași Sports Hall in Brașov. Working in close coordination with the Brașov Social Assistance Directorate, ADRA personnel and emergency response volunteers identified localized families facing severe financial distress. During this initial operation, one hundred and twenty aid packages containing necessary provisions were distributed, establishing a direct channel of support and conveying an institutional message of solidarity to the recipients. The humanitarian mission expanded into the broader rural and suburban territories of Brașov County on Sunday, June 21. Through this regional expansion, an additional one hundred and ten families received vital material assistance. Aurel Neațu, President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Romania and President of ADRA Romania, emphasized that the successful assistance of nearly seven hundred citizens within a forty-eight-hour window stands as a testament to institutional mobilization and the profound impact of actionable compassion. Executive leadership also highlighted the professionalism of the municipal social assistance employees, whose field experience integrated seamlessly with the dedication of the volunteer workforce.
Robert Georgescu, Executive Director of ADRA Romania, reiterated that the organization’s community-level projects are designed to look beyond immediate emergency relief.
