"The world's eyes have understandably returned to Syria in recent days, and we want you to know that ADRA is there."

Widespread conflict has impacted on every corner of Syria over the past three years causing over 3 million Syrians to flee to neighbouring countries of Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt, as well as an estimated 6.5 million to be internally displaced, leaving behind their homes, livelihoods and way of life.

Those internally displaced face major issues in accessing shelter, food, health care, education and essential non-food items and suffer from severe physical and psychosocial trauma. The ongoing conflict has disrupted the economic stability of the country placing additional burdens on the entire population.

ADRA is there, working hard to reach those who need it. Here is a very brief look at some of ADRA's network's current and future activities:

- Providing access to secure and appropriate shelter options for
those of who have been forced from their homes. This includes rehabilitation of shelters, buildings, as well as water and sanitation systems.

- Helping thousands of out-of-school children resume their education by rehabilitating classrooms or providing temporary options, helping them access psychosocial support, and providing training, equipment, and supplies for staff.

- Establishing a center for people with conflict-related injuries and disabilities and a center for reception and protection.

These are only a few of the areas being addressed by projects supported by several ADRA offices from across our network, along with valuable partners, and implemented by our local ADRA Syria team.
