Bern, Switzerland [CD EUDNews; BIA]. January 16, 2015.

Recently, Gabriel Monet presented his doctoral thesis at the University of Strasbourg and Corinne Egasse presented hers at the University of Lausanne. Our two doctors teaching at the 'Campus adventiste du Saléve' were thrilled to receive awards recognizing the quality of their work.

Corinne Egasse based her doctoral thesis on the biblical passage of John 13 when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. This research, which is both biblical and historical, is entitled "Almost everyone has violated that order": the practice of feet washing in ancient Christian literature was led by Professor Claire Clivaz.

On September 19, at the opening ceremony of the academic year at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Lausanne, Corinne Egasse received the "Faculty Award" for her excellency in scientific research. A preliminary agreement was signed with the editor 'Labor et Fides' for the publication of the thesis and before being included in the "Ancient Christianity" collection.

On November 7, 2014 Gabriel Monet received also the "Prix Louis Schmutz" award for his thesis entitled The Emerging Church. Being and Doing the Post-Christian Church was under the leadership of Professor Elisabeth Parmentier. It is part of the support policy in university research, that the Chapter of St. Thomas presents awards to the winners.

The Chapter of St Thomas of Strasbourg is the oldest institution of French Protestantism (1524). This award aims at honouring religious thesis on innovative issues and for supporting scientific studies. We are reminded that Gabriel Monet's thesis is published by Lit, Berlin, 2014.

We are proud and happy to have professors as part of our Faculty who are dedicated to their mission and also recognized by well-renowned universities.
