Barna Magyarosi was appointed the new president of the Inter-European Division

Barna Magyarosi was elected president at the 62nd General Conference Session of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in St. Louis. He succeeds Mario Brito, who is retiring.

Magyarosi has served as the Inter-European Division's executive secretary since 2015. He was first elected to a leadership position in the regional Adventist church in South Transylvania (Romania) in 2001, heading the Sabbath School Department. In 2003, he moved to the Adventist Theological Seminary in Cernica, Romania, as a lecturer. In 2005, he was appointed a lecturer of Old Testament studies and became the director of the theological seminary that same year. In 2010, Magyarosi was elected head of the Education and Family Ministries Department of the Inter-European Division (EUD) at the General Conference Session in Atlanta. In this role, he also became chairman of the EUD's Biblical Research Committee. He is married to Noémi-Laura, and they have one daughter, Blanka.
