On January 25, at the Academy of Sports in Bucha of Kyiv region, a large-scale charity event named “Give the child a holiday!” was held with the participation of ukrainian singer Nataliya Mogilevska. ADRA Ukraine was also joined to the organization of the event. The main goal of the event is to draw public attention to children who, due to the war, were left without parental care, became IDPs, live in boarding schools and are forced to overcome deep traumatic experiences. The holiday gathered more than 100 children.
Thanks to the participation of ADRA Ukraine representative Olexander Alyshev, all children received gifts.
The guests of the event were children from Borodyanka, Bucha, Hostomel and Pushcha-Voditsa. A variety of fun contests were organized for the kids, as well as a mini-football tournament. The atmosphere of the holiday was decorated with performances by famous artists.
Children learn to give joy in an art therapy workshop in Kyiv
On January 29, a regular meeting of the art therapy workshop for children was held at the ADRA Ukraine Protection and Support Center in Kyiv. This time the topic was “Giving joy with love,” and seven small participants joined the event, in particular children from IDP families. The workshop was held within the “SMHUF” project with the support of ADRA Sweden and the Swedish charitable organization “Radiohjälpen”.

The event was conducted by the psychologist of ADRA Ukraine Natalia Konopkina and the facilitator of the center Zhanna Prus. Children learned to influence their emotional state through behavior. They created valentines, in the process of creativity they discussed what feelings arise when you give handmaded gifts.
Such art workshops at the ADRA Ukraine Protection and Support Center in Kyiv are held regularly – once or twice a month, helping children discover new ways of expressing emotions and warmth of heart.
