Friedensau University: Master's Degree Program in Counseling Soon to Be Offered in English

The Theological University of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Friedensau, near Magdeburg, will offer its master's degree program in counseling in English starting in 2027.

The master's degree program in counseling will begin again in the winter semester of 2026-2027. Offered as a part-time program alongside professional work, it provides the theoretical background knowledge and essential skills needed to professionally support people through crises and change processes. Transdisciplinary in its approach, the program is grounded in the related fields of psychology, medicine, communication science, economics, sociology, social work, and theology. A German-language track will start in the 2026-2027 academic year, followed by an English-language track in the winter semester of 2027-2028. Another German-language cohort will then be possible in the 2028-2029 academic year, as announced byAndrea Cramer, press and public relations officer for the university.

Program for Managers and Executives

The master's program is designed for individuals in management and leadership roles across various social, healthcare, and church-related or faith-based institutions and organizations. Female and male pastors holding a bachelor's degree have the opportunity to earn a master's degree here. However, the program is also aimed at individuals working in private sector organizations.

Online Information Event on August 10

On Monday, August 10, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, interested prospective students will have the opportunity to learn more about the degree program and its key areas online. Professor Silvia Hedenigg, the program director, will answer questions.

Registration is required here.

Further information about the program can be found here.
