With the start of the new school year, the Adventist educational institution in Bogenhofen, Upper Austria, has changed its name to "Bogenhofen Adventist Campus" and updated its visual identity.
According to a statement from the school administration, the institution—formerly known as "Seminar Schloss Bogenhofen"—is signaling a commitment to comprehensive education, clear identity, and global networking.
New Crest with Historical Roots
Just in time for the opening worship service of the new school year, the newly designed entrance signage was completed. At the heart of the new visual identity is a simplified logo that, while modern, is deeply rooted in the institution's history. As early as the 1970s and 1980s, the school used a similar design created by former director and language school head Otto Riegler. Three former Bogenhofen alumni—Simon Eitzenberger, Philipp Grau, and Nicole Höhener, who now work in the communication and design departments of the sponsoring organizations—took up the historical template and translated it into a modern corporate design.
Clarity and Global Orientation
The name change reflects several developments:
By integrating the term "Adventist", the institution clearly aligns itself with the global network of Adventist educational institutions, making its values and church affiliation explicit right in its name.
The term "campus" reflects the diversity of the educational offerings. The location unites a broad spectrum under one roof: from kindergarten to primary and middle school (the APS – Adventistische Privatschule Bogenhofen, sponsored by the local Adventist church congregation in Bogenhofen and the Austrian Union of the Seventh-day Adventist Church), along with the upper secondary school (Oberstufenrealgymnasium), a language school, and the theological seminary (sponsored by the Adventist churches in Austria, German-speaking Switzerland, and Baden-Württemberg).
The previous addition, "Schloss" (castle), was intentionally dropped to simplify the name's length and translatability in an international context, as well as to avoid misunderstandings about an elite orientation and correspondingly expensive education. In German-speaking regions, the everyday name will henceforth primarily be "Campus Bogenhofen."
Proven Quality and Values Remain
Despite the fresh brand identity, the substantive foundation remains unchanged. Campus Bogenhofen continues to stand for solid, values-oriented education on a biblical Adventist foundation, as well as continuity in teaching and personal support from the trusted faculty.
About Bogenhofen Adventist Campus
Founded in 1949, Campus Bogenhofen is an educational center in the Innviertel region of Upper Austria that offers holistic, Christian Adventist education from childhood to adulthood. The institution is jointly sponsored by the Austrian Union (ÖU), the German Swiss Conference (DSV), and the Baden-Württemberg Conference (BWV) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Campus Bogenhofen, comprising the upper secondary school, language school, and theological seminary, serves about 120 pupils and students. The Bogenhofen Adventist Private School (Adventistische Privatschule Bogenhofen)—located on the same campus and sponsored by the local Adventist church congregation and the Austrian Union—includes an additional 100+ students and kindergarten children.
