HopeMedia: Consolidating Resources for Modern Mission

HopeMedia

In response to the evolving landscape of contemporary communication, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has initiated a strategic transition to enhance its Gospel outreach. The establishment of HopeMedia, serving the Czech and Slovak Republics, marks the unification of the Church’s media and publishing efforts into a single, streamlined entity.

Organizational Integration and Structural Synergy

A comprehensive reorganization was conducted over the past year to establish a robust support framework for missionary activities at the conference, local church, and individual levels. This initiative has successfully merged four primary institutions—Advent-Orion (Czech Republic and Slovakia), HopeTV, and Štúdio nádej—under a unified Board of Trustees.

The integration further incorporates correspondence course centers in Ostrava and Bratislava, a newly centralized digital communications division (encompassing social media and web management), and a consolidated IT support infrastructure. This restructuring transcends administrative efficiency; it is designed to foster professional synergy and the strategic sharing of resources across the Czecho-Slovakian Union.

As of January 2026, HopeMedia is led by Radomír Špinka. Bringing a decade of leadership experience from ADRA, Špinka’s mandate focuses on team integration and the cultivation of international partnerships to broaden the organization's impact.

Strategic Planning and Mid-Term Objectives

A pivotal strategic summit, held from January 12–14, 2026, served to define the operational trajectory of the new entity. The proceedings focused on clarifying departmental roles, optimizing internal workflows, and ratifying a mid-term strategic plan for the 2026–2027 period.

The primary objective is the development of high-quality content and projects tailored to diverse demographics, including children, youth, and secular society, while simultaneously providing resources for the spiritual development of Church members. To ensure maximum utility, all HopeMedia initiatives are developed in direct response to the requirements identified by local conferences and congregations.

While HopeMedia maintains its corporate headquarters in Prague, the organization operates on a decentralized model. By distributing teams across the Czecho-Slovakian Union, HopeMedia leverages regional talent and ensures a broad representational base from various local communities.

Operational Framework and Future Development

HopeMedia now functions as an integrated hub for five key sectors:

Publishing: Print and digital literature.
Media: Video and broadcast production.
Digital Communication: Management of social platforms and web presence.
Education: Correspondence and distance learning centers.
Technology: Unified IT support and infrastructure.

To further drive innovation, a Media-Editorial Council is currently being established. Composed of creative professionals, this body will design specific projects aligned with the priorities set by the Board of Trustees, which includes representatives from Union leadership, conference administrators, and the departments of Communication and Mission.

Institutional Outlook

The launch of HopeMedia in the Czecho-Slovakian Union represents a commitment to utilizing modern technological tools with greater precision and efficacy. Through this consolidated approach, the institution aims to provide a more consistent and professional presence in the public sphere, serving as an effective conduit for hope and spiritual guidance in a digital age.
