In alignment with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the subsequent "16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence" (November 25 – December 10), the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Romania has received a significant reinforcement of its life-saving work.

The Emergency Reception Centre for Victims of Domestic Violence, known as Casa ADRA, has been granted a renewal of its operating license by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. The center is now accredited for five more years (30.12.2025–30.12.2030), with a confirmed capacity of 18 safe places, in full compliance with national quality standards.

This renewal is more than a bureaucratic fulfillment: it reaffirms ADRA’s institutional commitment to providing a protected environment where women and children can find refuge, dignity, and hope. The center's activity is fundamental tooffering immediate support to victims who need a secure place to begin their journey of recovery and personal rebuilding.

A Team Effort for Safety

Alina Bordas-Mohorea, ADRA Romania’s project manager, expressed her gratitude for the team's dedication:

“The relicensing process was made possible thanks to consistent teamwork, duringwhich each colleague contributed with professionalism and dedication. We thank our beneficiaries who allow us to grow professionally and personally, giving us the privilege of accompanying them with respect and responsibility in their process of recovery and personal rebuilding.”

Casa ADRA provides essential services that extend beyond mere accommodation. Beneficiaries receive counseling, safety planning assistance, legal guidance, and emotional support—all crucial elements for their social reintegration and the recovery of their psychological and physical well-being.

The renewal of the accreditation, coinciding with a period of global awareness against domestic violence, underscores the relevance and urgency of these services. With this institutional strengthening, ADRA Romania continues to operate as a critical point of reference for those seeking peace and security, declaring that violence will not have the final word.
