Istanbul

Bern, January 1, 2017. [CD-EUDNews]. It was supposed to be a night of celebration for about 600 people to greet the New Year inside the Reina nightclub, in Istanbul's Ortakoy district. But the celebration has turned into tragedy.
Around 1:45 a.m. on Sunday January 1st, a man, in Santa Claus dress, armed with a weapon, entered and started firing, killing at least 39 people and wounding 60 others."Unfortunately (he) rained bullets in a very cruel and merciless way on innocent people who were there to celebrate New Year's and have fun," declare Gov. Vasip Sahin, as reported by Huffington Post, UK edition.

Before they could really understand what was happening, many have fall down to try to find shelter and several lost their life. We can imagine how terrible was the situation into the nightclub at that moment as the terrorist was consuming his "horrific attack".

During 2016 "Ankara and Istanbul have been targeted by several attacks carried out by the Islamic State group or Kurdish rebels, killing more than 180 people" reports Huffington Post chronicle.

"We still have in our minds the scenes of Berlin’s attack and now, again, our hearts are full of sadness for the people in Istanbul, for those who died, for those who are in hospitals, for the families who have their beloved ones injured or killed"- says the President of the Adventist Church in the Inter-European Region, Mario Brito, who adds - "We want to confirm them that they continue being in our prayers”.

The Adventist people in Europe and all over the world, stand with the families who lost their cherished. We are thinking to you and praying for you" reinforces President Brito.

“As we already stated for the several horrific terrorist attack that shaken Europe, and not only, in this last year, we firmly condemn these aggressors' cruelty. We cannot accept such disrespect towards human life and human dignity. We abhor such hideous violence. We pray that our Lord may console the families whom lost their beloved ones, healing those who are recovering " wish President Brito.
