Pastor Rúben de Abreu, born in Porto, Portugal, in 1965, has a distinguished career within the Seventh-day Adventist Church. After studying theology in France, he began pastoring in Portugal and later directed the Youth Department from 2000 to 2007, significantly developing the Adventist Youth Association. He served as Interim Executive Secretary of the Portuguese Union in 2005, becoming official in 2007 until 2012. Since 2013, he has been President of the Franco-Belgian Union of Churches, an unprecedented three-term tenure. Pastor de Abreu is known for his commitment to church administration and leadership training. He is married to Véronique and has two sons, Micael and Gabriel.
