On November 14, Colégio Adventista de Setúbal celebrated the inauguration of its new facilities in the Serralheira area, an ambitious project that represents a milestone in education in the region. The ceremony was attended by Carla Guerreiro, vice-mayor of Setúbal, who highlighted the importance of partnership between the school and the City Hall for the educational success of young people.
Guerreiro highlighted the close relationship with the institution, emphasizing the positive impact of joint initiatives such as the Eco-Escolas program. According to the mayor, who leads the Department of Education, “training people for the future” is a common objective that both entities intend to continue promoting. “If you need something from City Hall and we can help, we will be here,” he guaranteed.
The new facilities, located in the former Colégio de São Cristóvão area, finally allow elementary education, preschool and daycare to be together in one place. For the president of the School Council, Emanuel Esteves, the inauguration of this space is the realization of a dream of almost 43 years, providing better conditions for students, teachers, and staff.
The 10-thousand-square-meter area houses two modern buildings. The first, dedicated to the 1st cycle, has four classrooms, a library, a gym, and teachers' room, with capacity for one hundred students. The second building was designed for early childhood education and daycare, with space for 50 children in preschool and 43 in daycare, including a kitchen, a dining room and several support rooms.
