Bern, Switzerland [CD EUDNews]. I am sitting in an airplane and looking outside through the small window of the aircraft. I can't see anything out there because of heavy fog. At this time of year we often have fog in our area, just in time as we step into the New Year. I feel insecure and afraid because I do not have a point of reference even though I know the pilot and co-pilot have instruments to manouvre the plane.
We may look at the New Year with some hope and expectations but the new year is also full of uncertainties. As believers, let us be confident because we have an excellent Guide that will give us many points of reference. Like the pilot's instruments, the Bible is given to us by God so that we can find our way. We may need guidance in our spiritual, physical or emotional life, but we can be sure that there is One who cares. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”, John 8:12. Jesus, our divine pilot, can make tremendous changes in our lives, because He is faithful and will not disappoint anyone.
Let us continue to believe in Him until He comes, this is a promise He has made and we can be sure that one day we will see Him face to face. Let's not hesitate to listen to His voice and let His light shine through the heavy fog we might be in. To Him be glory and praise for the light He will continue to shine on us in the New Year, 2014.
