On Tuesday, September 29, pastoral zone leaders from across Spain, members of the Spanish Union Administration, the director of Hope Media, and the leadership team of the OneVoice27 project convened at the union’s headquarters. The gathering was marked by active listening, deep reflection, and a unified purpose: advancing together in mission.

The meeting served as an opportunity to assess the realities of the various regions, evaluate the current state of local churches and pastors, share strengths and challenges, and collaboratively strategize on how to better support local communities. Beyond programs, structures, and strategies, a core conviction emerged: true mission is built through proximity to people and collective forward movement.

Returning to the Essence of Pastoral Ministry

A significant portion of the meeting focused on the nature of pastoral work, beginning with a fundamental question: What causes an individual to recognize someone as their pastor?

This reflection naturally pointed back to the model of Christ. Authentic pastoral care requires genuine concern for the congregation, reaching out specifically to those in greatest need, listening before responding, and truly knowing individuals in order to guide them effectively.

Discussions also addressed the depth of familiarity pastors have with their congregants, raising the question of whether effective pastoral care is possible without deep personal connection. Consequently, approachability, active listening, and frequent interaction remain foundational elements of pastoral ministry.

OneVoice27: Moving Forward Together

Grounded in this pastoral vision, the meeting shifted focus toward one of the upcoming major evangelistic initiatives: OneVoice27.

The vision of the project is anchored in three main pillars: One Church, One Mission, One Message.

  • One Church walking in unity.

  • One Mission involving all members, utilizing every available opportunity and medium to share the Gospel.

  • One Message centered entirely on Jesus Christ.

OneVoice27 aims to mobilize the entire church network in Spain—including local congregations, schools, institutions, departments, and individual members—operating under a shared vision and a unified strategic roadmap.

Prior to launching large-scale outreach actions, however, internal preparation is prioritized. The initiative begins with a 40-day period of spiritual growth, dedicated to prayer, reflection on the life of Christ, and the study of Scripture.

True mobilization requires a prior encounter with Jesus, and mission originates from a church grounded in prayer. In the coming months, efforts will focus on training, motivation, and mobilization to equip local churches so that every member can find their place in the mission. The ultimate objective is not merely the organization of activities, but ensuring that Christ is shared within every neighborhood, through every medium, and in every conversation.

Ultimately, the gathering served as a reminder that while regions, churches, and local contexts vary, the calling and the mission remain shared.
