A survey by GfK (Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung) of over 2,000 participants showed that 13.2 percent of all German citizens know the Christian channel, Hope TV. That is more than ten million people in Germany. People of different age and social groups throughout Germany contributed to the representative online survey.

In the federal states where Hope TV can be received by cable as well as satellite, as many as 16 to 18 percent of Germans said they knew Hope TV, according to the broadcaster. In contrast, the perception in federal states without cable presence is around eight to eleven percent.

Hope TV is most popular with people aged 30 to 60 (16 to 17 percent) and families with at least two children (18 to 21 percent).

"After almost ten years of market presence, the Hope Media team wanted to find out how their own brand ‘Hope TV’ is perceived by society in Germany. The results by GfK motivate us greatly and fill us with joy, gratitude and, above all, humility. God works through Hope TV and, thus, reaches people with the hope in Jesus Christ," says Paulin Giurgi, director of Communications & Marketing at Hope Media Europe e.V.

The same study also explored the level of awareness of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Germany. 10 percent of the respondents said they knew the Protestant free church. Again, the level of awareness was highest among the 30- to 60-year-olds (between 10 and 11 percent). In households with four or more people, it was over 12 percent, as well as in towns with over 100,000 inhabitants.

Hope TV is the television channel of the Protestant Church of Seventh-day Adventists and belongs to the international Hope Channel family. It was founded in the USA in 2003 and now consists of 61 national stations. Hope TV can be received via the Astra satellite, on the internet via hopetv.de, and in some cable networks. Currently, around 35,000 Seventh-day Adventists are organised in 554 local church congregations in German.
