Pastoral Convention in Amboise: Northern France Conference Prepares for One Voice 27

From October 4 to 7, 2026, pastors from the Franco-Belgian Union and the Northern France Conference of Seventh-day Adventists met in Amboise for their annual pastoral convention, dedicating their sessions to the preparation of One Voice 27. This global initiative invites church members worldwide to place Jesus Christ at the center of their lives and witness, paving the way for an international missionary mobilization in 2027.

A Global Movement for Spiritual Renewal

Far exceeding a traditional evangelism program, One Voice 27 seeks to ignite a movement of spiritual renewal centered on the person of Jesus Christ. The initiative coincides with the symbolic bicentennial anniversary of the baptism of Jesus and the commencement of His public ministry. Across the globe, the Adventist Church is rallying around a unified vision: to guide individuals toward a personal encounter with Christ.

With a global membership exceeding 22 million, the Seventh-day Adventist Church aims to make 2027 a milestone year for sharing the Gospel. This mobilization will manifest through diverse formats tailored to local contexts, including community outreach, mission initiatives, Bible study groups, personal testimony, and public events.

At the core of this endeavor is an invitation to rediscover Jesus through the Gospels. Members are also encouraged to deepen their understanding of Christ through the study of the book “The Desire of Ages” (published in French as “Jésus-Christ”) by Ellen G. White. The leadership that gathered in Amboise emphasized that authentic mission stems from a living relationship with Christ, which in turn fuels the desire to serve and bear witness.

Three Dimensions of the Mission

To support this mobilization, the Northern France Conference outlined a strategic framework structured around three complementary dimensions:

"Jesus and Me": Encourages every believer to deepen their personal relationship with God through prayer, Scripture study, and spiritual discipline.

"Jesus and My Church": Highlights the vital role of the local community in welcoming, supporting, and integrating spiritual seekers.

"Jesus and My Conference": Emphasizes the conference's responsibility in leadership training, resource allocation, and the coordination of regional mission initiatives.

These three tiers are designed to bridge the individual spiritual experience with the collective engagement of the church body.

Preparation Underway

For the leadership of the Northern France Conference, preparation for 2027 is already underway. The Amboise convention successfully laid the groundwork for a strategy that encourages broad congregational participation while granting local churches the autonomy to develop initiatives suited to their specific environments.

Concluding the gathering, a shared conviction emerged: the success of One Voice 27 will depend less on rigid programming and more on the commitment of individual members and local communities to live out and share the Gospel in their daily lives. Through this mobilization, participating pastors aim to ensure that Jesus Christ remains the focal point of every initiative, encounter, and testimony, extending the hope offered by the Gospel to a broader public.
