On Thursday, March 7th, 2019, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency - ADRA Romania inaugurated the ADRA OFFICE CENTRE at its headquarters. The event was attended by Jonathan Duffy, ADRA International President, Aurel Neaţu, Executive Secretary of the Adventist Church in Romania, Georgel Pîrlitu, President of the Adventist Church in Muntenia and Dobrogea (geographical and historical regions in the Southern of Romania), as well as by ADRA board members, the ADRA regional team, ADRA’s central office team, volunteers, donors and guests.

The new ADRA OFFICE CENTREconsists of ten modern and multifunctional offices for project managers, an office for the administrator, an office for the caretaker, a pre-archive space, a secured archive room, a technical room, a toilet, a spacious bathroom, a kitchen with a welcoming dining room and a bright lobby that ensures the access to the working area with video surveillance. The construction works that started on December 7th, 2015 have been finished due to the will and close cooperation of many kind-hearted people who remain anonyms, but whose works are written in the books of heaven. The investment in the new ADRA OFFICE CENTRE exceeds EUR 70,000 and consisted of building materials, labour and equipment, through funding, donations and volunteering.

“When we look at a construction we are reminded that everything is made out of brick and mortar, but when we dedicate it to God, it transform itself and becomes a light. Thus, in this dark world, the new ADRA Romania OFFICE CENTRE becomes a beam of light for Bucharest and beyond. But a building cannot do this by itself; it is the contribution of the people who work in it. When we inaugurate a building, we dedicate ourselves to God. Now that we are inaugurating this building, we stop and think to the wonderful way in which God has led ADRA Romania to this moment and we rejoice. We are confident that God will lead ADRA Romania in the same beautiful and wise way. He guides us further,” said ADRA International President Jonathan Duffy.

“The Adventist Church in Romania values everything that ADRA has done since its establishment in 1990. We appreciate and support the ADRA Romania team and everything that is happening here. In order to illustrate your work and what it means to us and to God, I would like to recall an episode of the Gospel of Mark 14:9. This woman did something beautiful for Jesus Christ, just as ADRA does beautiful things for people. ADRA is an entity of the Adventist Church that is close to people for do them good. I am convinced that this means much for God. May God bless you and I think the new ADRA Romania OFFICE CENTRE is a gift from Him so that you will be able to do even more,” said Aurel Neaţu, Executive Secretary of the Romanian Adventist Church.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to attend the inauguration of such an important place, the new ADRA OFFICE CENTRE. Here will be made life-changing decisions. I very much appreciate ADRA, and one of the reasons is the fact that when ADRA does something, it does not do it for itself. In addition, having a biblical vision, even if it does not meet all the needs of this world, ADRA does everything it can and it is allowed to do. I pray and hope for God’s blessings over the ADRA team and all its projects,” said Georgel Pîrlitu, President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Muntenia and Dobrogea.

“March is an unforgettable month! This is such a long-awaited and important day for ADRA Romania. From the very beginning, many people have been involved in the realization of the new ADRA OFFICE CENTRE. They looked boldly at the completion of this centre that we wished to be safe, useful and beautiful. We are delighted to successfully complete this stage of refurbishing a level of the ADRA Romania headquarters. The works to the new ADRA OFFICE CENTRE were not carried out in a hurry, but they consisted in a quality work that would please God,” said Robert Georgescu, ADRA Romania Executive Director.

“The new ADRA OFFICE CENTRE is a witness to ADRA's development, but also to the diversification of the social projects carried out by the organization. This CENTRE completes the space in which the beautiful ADRA team will be able to prepare heartfelt projects for those in need. May God’s blessings be over every ADRA worker and beneficiary,” said Dorin Albu, ADRA Romania board member.

“It is a special opportunity when ADRA Romania wears new spring clothes by inaugurating the new ADRA OFFICE CENTRE. We are enjoying this welcomed transformation after a “winter” of construction works,” said Valentina Sturzu-Cozorci, ADRA Romania Project Manager.

“I am glad that we have come to this point, and we have managed to transform this space into operational offices. The capital repairs of the new ADRA OFFICE CENTRE consisted of infrastructure works, interior and exterior finishes and furniture, appliances, etc., all according to current standards. The expansion of the office area allows us to increase the number of team members working on the projects that are being implemented. On this occasion, I want to thank all those who have joined us in completing the ADRA OFFICE CENTRE,” said Ruben Brînceanu, ADRA Romania Administrator.
