General Conference (GC) leadership recently concluded a comprehensive visit to the Inter-European Division (EUD), engaging with administrative headquarters, humanitarian initiatives, and professional ministries across Switzerland to evaluate regional progress and reinforce collaborative mission strategies.
The itinerary provided an in-depth assessment of the EUD territory, which spans 20 countries and encompasses approximately 185,000 members worshipping across 2,530 local churches. This diverse operational landscape requires nuanced approaches to ministry tailored to varied cultural contexts.
Humanitarian and Administrative Alignment
A key component of the visit involved high-level consultations with ADRA Europe. The humanitarian network coordinates 31 national offices operating within the EUD and Trans-European Division (TED) regions. As part of a worldwide ADRA infrastructure active in more than 120 countries and assisting over 30 million individuals annually, the European branch delivers critical aid to vulnerable populations. Discussions focused on optimizing the operational synergy between local church structures and ADRA relief efforts to maximize community impact across Europe and internationally.
ASI Europe International Convention
The divisional tour concluded in Fribourg, Switzerland, with the ASI Europe International Convention. The event drew participants from over 20 countries united by the core mission of "Sharing Christ in the Marketplace."
Currently, ASI Europe comprises 19 national chapters operating across 22 countries, mobilizing Adventist professionals and business leaders to integrate faith-based values into their professional enterprises. Leadership commended the attendees—under the direction of ASI Europe President Carlos Dias—for embedding active service and institutional mission into the private sector, demonstrating that professional environments can function as viable fields for community ministry.
The meetings underscored an ongoing institutional emphasis on connecting church administration, professional networks, and humanitarian outreach to address the evolving needs of European communities.
