World Church president Pastor Ted Wilson spent the past weekend (November 17 and 18) visiting Adventist churches and schools in the Greater Sydney Conference, encouraging church members to reach people for Jesus.

Pastor Wilson and his wife Nancy visited Macarthur Adventist College (Macquarie Fields) on Friday evening, worshipped at Wahroonga Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sabbath morning and spent Sabbath afternoon at Mountain View Adventist College (Doonside). At all three locations, Pastor Wilson shared the main message, speaking of hope and Jesus’ soon return. More than 100 people attended each event, with some travelling for hours to hear Pastor Wilson.

“It was a privilege to have the Seventh-day Adventist Church leader, Pastor Ted and Nancy Wilson with us this past weekend,” said Greater Sydney Conference president Pastor Terry Johnson. “Pastor Wilson’s emphasis on mission to the cities resonated with me and with those who heard him as we focus on reaching the Greater Sydney area.”

South Pacific Division president Pastor Glenn Townend agreed, saying the Wilsons’ visit to Sydney was a blessing to the people.

“Pastor Wilson’s messages challenged people to TMI—total member involvement—everyone doing something for Jesus in reaching the huge city of Sydney,” he said. “His personal engagement, listening to people and willingness to be in ‘selfies’ showed that he really cared for people.”

The Wilsons will arrive in Fiji early next month, where Pastor Wilson will open the new “centre of influence” building in Suva, and celebrate the rebuilding and reopening of churches destroyed by 2016’s Cyclone Winston.
