February 24, 2025, marks three years since life changed forever for millions of Ukrainians. What should have been an ordinary morning turned into chaos. Missiles struck before dawn, sending waves of panic, fear, and unimaginable loss through communities across the country. Families fled—some never to return—leaving behind everything they knew in search of safety.
For three years, war has drained Ukraine, turning once-thriving cities into ruins and making everyday survival a struggle. But even in the darkest moments, hope remains. And through it all, ADRA has been there.
The Ongoing Crisis
The war in Ukraine has left behind devastation on an overwhelming scale. Cities once filled with life—are now nothing but rubble. The humanitarian toll is staggering:

More than 4.9 million people have been forced from their homes, seeking refuge within Ukraine, 6.8 million left the country and fled abroad. Basic necessities like food, clean water, and medical care are out of reach for countless families. The emotional toll is immense, especially on children, veterans, and those who have lost everything.

And yet, the world’s attention drifts. Other crises dominate the headlines, but Ukraine’s suffering doesn’t end when the news cameras turn away or when only the politicians make headlines.

ADRA’s Mission: Helping and Not Stopping
From the first day of war, ADRA has been on the ground, standing with the people of Ukraine. In Ukraine, but also in numerous countries across Europe, where Ukrainians sought refuge. Thanks to the tireless work of our teams and the generosity of our supporters, we have provided: Evacuations from conflict zones, helping families escape immediate danger. Emergency food, water, and heating supplies for those left with nothing. Psychosocial support for children and adults coping with trauma. Housing recovery programs, helping rebuild homes and restore hope. Support for the elderly and people with disabilities, ensuring no one is left behind.

But the work isn’t over. As long as people are in need, ADRA will keep showing up—helping today and working toward a better tomorrow.
Your Role in The Help that Arrived

People like you—kind, compassionate, and committed to justice—make this work possible. As our partners, supporters, volunteers, you and the backbone of our mission. As Yona from Finland, one of our team members in Ukraine put it:

“As long as I have the opportunity, I believe it’s my responsibility to help.” As someone who believes in compassion and justice, you have the power to stand with Ukraine.

-Donate today through your local ADRA office to provide food, water, medical aid, and shelter to those in need.
-Share this story to keep awareness alive—Ukraine must not be forgotten.
-Pray for peace and for those working tirelessly to rebuild lives.

Three years. The war continues. But so does our mission.
