After some years of preparation by the Health Ministries Team of the Inter-European Region of the Seventh-day Adventists (EUD) - with feedbacks from the fields and the contribution of several medical professionals - the “WeCare” Initiative is finally born.

WeCare is a multi-faceted project to help all those that are interested to be “Inspired, Empowered, Equipped to care” as Jesus cared.

“WeCare is a Campaign to raise the awareness and level of understanding about the needs of individuals around us,” said Valerie Dufour, EUD Heath Ministries director. “The intention of the WeCare Initiative is to offer numerous opportunities for training, reflection and reshaping of our Church life and Church presence within the communities.”

One of the goals of WeCare is to offer trainings in partnership with local organizations. The WeCare online or onsite courses will be for individuals, groups and churches. Valérie Dufour points out that this INITIATIVE is aimed at practically everyone. “ It is for those looking forward to provide meaningful help to their relatives, colleagues or neighbors in time of crisis – present or future” said Valerie Dufour, and adds other categories: “for members engaged in various lines of ministry to have a more evidence-base and wholistic approach to care. For pastors to be equipped to deal with members whose mental health and lives have come out of balance. For youth to grow in the knowledge of their own physical, mental, social and emotional health as well as to be able to offer some support to their friends at school and work. For churches who want to become a caring place for all.”

We Care will also contribute to the reflection about what we want to be as a Church in a time like this and how our Church can contribute to lessen suffering and rekindle hope.
