The Arthur Daniells Institute of Mission Studies (ADIMIS) at Friedensau Adventist University has signed a cooperation agreement with the South French Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to offer specialized training in “Group Dynamics and Leadership Skills in Small Groups – with a Focus on Mindfulness and Community Building.”
The program equips pastors, departmental leaders, and church members with practical skills for leading spiritually vibrant and relationally healthy small groups.
Samuel Dinsenmeyer, departmental director of the South French Conference, has long championed the role of small groups in church life. Having written his master’s thesis on the subject, he was eager to bring ADIMIS training to France after experiencing its impact in Switzerland.
“Following an inspiring presentation by László and Szilvia Szabó at a pastors’ meeting, interest grew rapidly,” Dinsenmeyer shared. “Nearly 90 people registered for the training. The feedback has been outstanding — participants deeply appreciated both the high quality of the content and the hands-on experience of what a thriving small group feels like. This training strengthens our conviction that mission happens best in small, Spirit-led communities.”
Dr. László Szabó, director of ADIMIS, explains the core aim of the program:
“We seek to develop mindful, spiritually grounded leadership that understands group dynamics and fosters mutual care and shared mission. Strong relationships not only enhance personal well-being but also build resilience and motivate outreach. As the African proverb says: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’”
The training in the South French Conference began on 17 November 2025 with 90 participants — a remarkable response that reflects strong grassroots interest.
The ADIMIS small group leader training continues to gain momentum across Europe. On 18 November 2025, 70 participants from Italy and another cohort from French-speaking Switzerland completed their certification. Previous courses ran successfully from 31 March to 16 June and from 7 October to 18 November 2025.
