In observance of World Refugee Day on June 20th, ADRA Europe will host an official ceremony to announce the winners of its annual art contest. The event serves as a platform to recognize artistic talent while fostering reflection on global displacement and integration.
This year, the competition invited participants to submit original artwork exploring the theme, "Home/Shelter - A Place to Belong." Through diverse creative expressions, 345 contributors examined the concept of shelter not merely as a physical structure, but as an emotional and social sanctuary where individuals can experience a true sense of belonging and security.
Beyond celebrating the winners, the ceremony is intended to encourage broader public discourse. By highlighting the fundamental human need for connection and safety, the event prompts attendees and viewers to consider practical actions that individuals and communities can take to foster inclusivity and a sense of belonging while supporting displaced populations.
The ceremony will be broadcast on June 20th. Detailed information, viewing options, and the digital gallery of the submissions can be accessed via the official portal at https://artcontest.adra.eu.
The Purpose and Structure of the ADRA Europe Art Contest
The annual ADRA Europe Art Contest is an international initiative designed to engage youth in humanitarian reflection through creative expression. Organized by ADRA Europe in cooperation with the Inter-European and Trans-European Divisions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the competition culminates each year in a global ceremony held on World Refugee Day (also recognized contextually as World Refugee Sabbath).
The public voting phase for the submissions has concluded. The final standings and winning entries across all four age categories will be officially disclosed on June 20, 2026.
