GAiN Romania Convention 2026: Advancing Faith through Digital Responsibility

GAiN Romania.

The GAiN Romania Convention, held from January 16–18, 2026, in Stupini, Brașov, convened approximately 150 communication professionals, content creators, and technical specialists from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The three-day summit served as a strategic platform for reflecting on the authenticity, relevance, and ethical responsibility of the Christian message within an increasingly complex digital landscape.

Strategic Vision and Spiritual Foundations

The convention opened with a keynote devotional by Aurel Neațu, President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Romania. Neațu underscored the necessity of grounding institutional communication in Scriptural principles and mission-driven objectives, cautioning against prioritizing digital trends over core values.

International perspectives were provided by leadership from the Inter-European Division and the General Conference:

Paulo Macedo (Communication Director, Inter-European Division) addressed the spiritual responsibility of Christian communicators, emphasizing that institutional messaging must prioritize truth over mere technical efficiency. He further outlined the cohesive communication strategy currently guiding Adventist initiatives across Europe.

Karen Glassford (Director of Digital Evangelism, General Conference) presented on the evolution of online spaces as environments for authentic spiritual transformation. Her insights focused on the implementation of hybrid evangelism—a model that integrates digital outreach with in-person community building.

Ethics, Technology, and Professional Standards

The plenary sessions addressed the intersection of modern technology and institutional integrity. Iustin Priescu led a critical discussion on the ethics of Artificial Intelligence, urging participants to employ discernment when adopting emerging technologies. Complementing this technical focus, Bogdan Ciucă—President of the Romanian Academy of Legal Sciences—offered an analysis of the legal and ethical frameworks essential to public and institutional communication.

Additional presentations explored the diverse facets of modern ministry, including: The psychological impact of emotional resonance in messaging; The progress of media initiatives such as Hope Discovery; Official communication strategies specific to the Republic of Moldova.

Specialized Seminars and Practical Application

To facilitate practical skill development, the convention featured targeted seminars organized into three distinct tracks:

Official Communication & Institutional Relations: Focused on journalistic standards, press release drafting, and visual identity management.

Media (Video and Sound): Addressed technical solutions for local churches, including affordable streaming and professional audio-visual projection.

Social Media: Explored brand strategy and the missionary application of digital platforms to craft engaging, clear narratives.

Conclusion and Future Objectives

The final day, opened by Dragoș Mușat, shifted focus toward local implementation and collaborative continuity. Conference-based meetings allowed for the development of concrete action plans to ensure a unified communication vision across all administrative levels.

Organized by the Communication Department of the Adventist Union, GAiN Romania 2026 reaffirmed that while tools and platforms evolve, Christian communication remains a fundamental form of ministry. The event successfully bridged the gap between professional competence and faith-based service, setting a clear trajectory for the church’s digital presence in the coming years.
