The campsite at Friedensau Adventist University hosted the sixth annual Hope Camp from August 4–9, 2026, drawing a record 720 participants from across Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Designed as an inclusive family recreation event, the camp welcomed a diverse group that included approximately 280 children and adolescents.

Organized by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Germany in cooperation with Hope Media Europe, Hope Camp operates as an open, non-denominational initiative. Its primary objective is to offer families and community members a shared week of outdoor recreation, fostering fellowship through leisure activities, social interaction, and Christian values.

A central element of Hope Camp is its broad array of themed activities. Participants were able to customize their daily schedules from an offering of 150 different workshops and interactive experiences. Activities ranged from sports, archery, and creative crafts to forest rallies, woodwork, and age-specific youth programming.

In a report published on August 8, the regional newspaper Volksstimme characterized Hope Camp as one of Germany's premier family gatherings. Event coordinator Frederik Woysch noted that the initiative aims to further utilize Friedensau Adventist University’s local campus infrastructure while expanding its outreach. The camp has experienced steady growth since its inception, expanding from 300 participants six years ago to 640 in 2025, reaching a new peak of 720 attendees this year.

Alongside recreational workshops, spiritual reflection forms a core pillar of the camp experience. This year's programming featured original musical stage productions depicting key milestones from the life of the biblical King David—including his confrontation with Goliath, his complex relationship with King Saul, and his friendship with Jonathan.

Keynote presenter Miodrag "Miki" Jovanović delivered spiritual insights centered on the life of David, emphasizing his personal vulnerabilities, crises, and achievements rather than depicting an idealized figure. The presentations addressed contemporary themes such as personal resilience, contentment, trust, and spiritual renewal.

Hope Camp emphasizes accessibility for individuals with little or no prior connection to Christian traditions. By combining structured activities, open leisure, and spiritual discussions, the event aims to offer flexible entry points tailored to families, youth, and individual participants alike.

The organizers have confirmed that the seventh edition of Hope Camp is scheduled to take place from August 3–8, 2027.
