From May 1 to 3, the Youth Ministries Department hosted the Fête des Aventuriers, Bourgeons et Explos (FABE), a weekend event dedicated to the personal development and spiritual growth of children and adolescents.
Over the past three years, this gathering has drawn an average of more than 200 young participants per event, accompanied by approximately one hundred leaders and parents. With so many representing nearly every church in French-speaking Switzerland, as well as the region of Ticino, this year's event sustained this high level of attendance.
Divided into three age categories—Bourgeons (aged 4–5), Adventurers (aged 6–11), and Explos/Pathfinders (aged 12–15)—the participants engaged in a diverse range of activities. These efforts culminated with the collaborative construction of an outdoor scout chapel on Sunday morning.
The weekend opened on Friday evening with a presentation by the event coordinators, focusing on the theme of creation, which was underscored by the natural scenery of the venue overlooking the lake and mountains.
On Sabbath morning, age-specific programs provided interactive activities designed to challenge the participants' knowledge, manual creativity, and practical skills. In the afternoon, the Adventurers participated in workshops focused on health, environmental respect, and personal talents, while a specialized program was provided for the younger group, the Bourgeons.
Concurrently, the older youth (Explos) completed a demanding mountain trek. The excursion concluded late in the evening, achieving its objective despite the physical difficulty of the route.
On Sunday, all age groups collaborated to construct a scout chapel under the direction of Florent, a master carpenter. The project served as the concluding activity for the weekend, providing a dedicated space for reflection and gratitude. The completed structure was subsequently transported to the youth campsite located at the Gland beach.
The favorable weather conditions and the facilities at Camp Vaumarcus contributed to the successful outcome of this third edition of FABE, organized by the Swiss French and Ticino Conference (FSRT).
